About GNC Community FCU
GNC Community FCU Can Help Bring Your Finances In Balance!
Over Seventy years ago, a group of progressive employees of the Johnson Bronze Company planted a seed. As the seed grew and developed, many growing pains were experienced. In the beginning all meetings were held in the confines of an office in the corner of the building within the Johnson Bronze plant, but through hard work and a ton of dedication the credit union progressed. Eventually, the Johnson Bronze Company allotted the credit union space which enabled them to serve their members much better by offering more services, giving the credit union room to grow leading to both the silver and gold anniversaries.
With less than 900 members and the closing of the Johnson Bronze plant, a serious question arose as to their continued existence. Many board members with the members behind them rallied and overwhelmingly agreed to continue the operation as a community chartered credit union. The application was made and approved and the credit union was officially called the “Greater New Castle Community Federal Credit Union”. It now was necessary to find a new home and on March 18th, 1994 the credit union relocated to 201 S. Jefferson St., New Castle, PA…
GNC Community FCU is a strong financial institution with assets of over &70,000,000, and in many aspects has exceeded the financial norms of and to become a very strong organization. We rank high within our peers in many areas. GNC is a member of the Shenango Valley Chapter of Credit Unions which incorporates over 10 credit unions in Mercer, Venango and Lawrence counties. GNC was voted the best of the best for over 15 years here in New Castle and second for over all lending, this truly accounts for something during this unyielding financial economy.
The most important product is our loyalty to our GNC members. Mindful of this, we have consistently paid a higher dividend, kept low loan rates, keeping up with the ever changing technology world making sure we offer the newest and best services we can for our membership. We will remain strong and we will keep our motto “We will survive”.
At this time I would like to thank the president of 61 years Fred Natale for his dedication to the credit union movement of “people helping people” alive.
To the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, Credit Committee, Management, and office staff…….Thanks for a job well done…………
